ART
Since 2020, The Art of Health has used art and design to engage young people on health matters. Through art competitions and exhibitions, young people have been able to explore their health and well-being and express their needs through drawing, paintings, illustrations and design.
2022 – ‘TAURA’ ART EXHIBITION
‘TAURA’ means ‘Speak Out!’ young artists from around the country created art pieces speaking out about health in their communities. These were showcased in art exhibitions in Harare and Zimbabwe and auctioned. The Art of Health is a not-for-profit and 100% of sales were awarded to the artists. 2021 –NATIONAL COMPETITION
In 2021 the Art of health held a national health-themed competition calling on young people across the country to submit art entries on their understanding of health and well-being through music, drama and art. Of the 1 153 total entries received across all creative categories, 553 were art pieces.
Health topics explored included physical, mental, emotional, social, financial and spiritual wellbeing.
The 553 entry participants were then shortlisted into 12 finalists who took part in the second phase of the competition after receiving mentorship and the materials they needed to create their artwork.
